Obi-Wan Kenobi, also known as Ben Kenobi, is a central character in the Star Wars universe.
He first appeared in Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope (1977), portrayed by Alec Guinness. He is a Jedi Master who serves as a mentor to both Anakin Skywalker and later, Luke Skywalker, teaching them the ways of the Force.
During the Clone Wars, as depicted in the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars, he is a Jedi General commanding clone troopers against the Separatist droid armies. He is known for his strategic brilliance and skillful lightsaber combat.
The Obi-Wan Kenobi TV show further explores his life in exile on Tatooine, protecting a young Luke Skywalker from the Galactic Empire, played by Ewan McGregor who also played the younger Obi-Wan in episodes I - III.
